Chapter 15: Cute

       Will sighs and says softly, "sure would love to sleep..." He sighs, whining softly as he snuggles Tess a bit more. Tess uncoils her tail in her sleep, and moves it to loosely curl around Will's. Will curls his around hers as well, putting his head on top of hers as she smiles a bit in her sleep. He then closes his eyes and manages to fall asleep after a while.

       A few hours later, Tess is still asleep as Will's entire body jerks, and his eyes shoot open, glancing around as he trembles.
       "F-fuck.." He turns his gaze, noticing Tess as she moves slightly in her sleep. He then pulls her closer to him, gently licking her cheek.
       "H-huh..?" Tess mumbles softly, opening an eye.
       "H-hi.." Will says, still trembling.
       "Hey... You alright?" Tess asks, noticing the trembling as his arms are wrapped around her.
       "Y-yeah.. just.. cold?" Will lies.
       "Huh.." Tess snuggles against him a bit, and tightens her tail around his as he purrs faintly. Tess closes her eyes again, kind of nuzzling her head against his chest.
       Will licks her cheek, causing her to unexpectedly respond by giggling slightly, for a moment. Will stops, staring at her with a surprised expression.
       "D-did you just..giggle?" He asks, bemused.
       "Uh... Yes?" Tess replies uncertainly.
       Will's expression looks completely bemused, and he suddenly licks her face again, causing her to start giggling again.
       "Quit it!.." Tess giggles, causing him to stop once again with a surprised expression.
       "That giggle.. it's.." Will says, trying to figure how to react. "Something that I'm not used to.."
       "Yeah... Same here.." Tess says, a bit shocked at herself as well.
       "It's cute, though.." Will chuckles.
       "It is..?" Tess asks, looking surprised.
       Will responds by suddenly licking her face again, causing her to giggle more.
       "Stop it!.." She giggles a bit.
       Will stops. "See? It's cute..." He rubs his head against her.
       "I'm not cute..." Tess says.
       "Yes you are."
       "No I'm not.."
       "Awh.. yes you are." Will rubs his snout against her.
       Tess's expression is still surprised. "Well.. T-thanks?"
       "Anytime..."
       Tess sighs a bit, her head nuzzled against Will's chest as he's snuggling her.
       Will suddenly licks her face once again, causing Tess to giggle again.
       "Stop!.." Tess giggles, and Will stops.
       "But.." He says. "It's so adorable..." Without warning, he suddenly bear hugs her. Tess just kinda goes still, surprised as Will is hugging her.
       "Alright then.." Tess finally says after a while.
       "What?"
       "Just a little surprised or something.."
       "Well.. Y-you somehow.. t-triggered something." Will says. "It made.. m-me a little more cheerful?"
       "Well.. that's good.."
       "Yeah.. a little scary, though."
       "It's still good.."
       "Yeah.."
       "So.. what now?" Tess asks.
       "Hm.." Will thinks for a moment, and then suddenly begins tickling her.
       "No!" Tess starts laughing, squirming a bit.
       "Yes!" Will laughs, continuing.
       "S-stop!" Tess laughs, beginning to squirm away from him.
       "Nope!"
       Tess manages to squirm out of his reach, and he stops.
       "Aw.."
       Tess stops laughing, catching her breath. "Not gonna follow me?"
       "Nah.."
       "So.. What is there to do around here?" Tess asks, having now caught her breath.
       "Not sure.."
       "Well you used to live here, what did you do?"
       "Hide. I was always getting chased by gangs, government, police.."
       "I mean for fun. What did you do for fun?.."
       "Fun?" Will says. "Err.. I killed people for fun.."
       "Alright.. Anything NOT violent?" Tess asks.
       "Not really.."
       "Alright then.. What is there to do around here?"
       "I don't know.. I was too busy running to ever notice much that's around here."
       "Well we need to figure something out.."
       Will sighs and begins to think.
       "Anything?" Tess asks.
       "Nope.."
       "Damn.."
       "I guess we could just go around the town and see what there is to do..?"
       "Alright." Tess says, as they both stand up off the bed.
       She coils up her tail under her cloak and puts her hood up, as Will opens the closet door and pulls out a black trench coat. He puts on the coat as they walk out of the room.
       "So we're just gonna walk around?" She asks as they make their way toward the stairs.
       Before they go down the stairs, Will stops at a table and opens a drawer, pulling out an assault rifle and tucking it inside his coat.
       "We're taking the car.." He says wearily. "A lot safer than just walking around in the open.."
       "Alright."
       Tess follows him down the stairs to the second floor, then down to the first floor.
       Once they get downstairs, they head into the garage and get into the car.
       "Here we go.." Will says as they pull out of the garage.
